COVID-19 Crisis

Nagu Trust’s Response During the COVID-19 Crisis

The idea for Nagu Trust was born during one of the most challenging times in recent history—the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a spontaneous act of service by a group of compassionate professionals soon evolved into a sustained movement to serve the underserved.

Rising to the Call When the Nation Needed It Most

During the peak of the pandemic, communities across rural Karnataka faced a severe shortage of even the most basic necessities—face masks, sanitizers, food, and access to medical help. The healthcare system was overwhelmed, and frontline workers were under-equipped.
That’s when Nagu Trust stepped in.

COVID-Relief

Key COVID-Relief Initiatives

Essential Supply Distribution

Distributed thousands of masks, sanitizers, and hygiene kits to frontline health workers and the general public.

Provided daily meals and ration kits to families hit hardest by lockdowns and job losses.

Support for Healthcare Workers

Supplied PPE kits, gloves, and medical essentials to government hospitals and local clinics.

Collaborated with local authorities to identify needs in high-risk areas and respond quickly.

Medical and Emergency Aid

Launched free ambulance services to transport COVID patients and other medical emergencies in rural areas.

The Beginning of a Larger Vision

What began as a crisis response quickly revealed deeper systemic gaps in rural healthcare access and support. The team’s commitment, the overwhelming need, and the impact they witnessed laid the foundation for what would officially become the Nagu Trust.
Since then, the trust has expanded its work into permanent healthcare, education, and social welfare initiatives, carrying forward the same spirit of compassion, service, and resilience that sparked during COVID-19.
