Our Story

About Nagu Trust

Bringing Essential Health and Oral Care to Rural Lives

Nagu Trust was born out of compassion during one of the most challenging times in recent history—the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a small, urgent effort to support frontline health workers with food and protective supplies soon grew into a larger mission: to serve the underserved, heal the neglected, and bring hope where it had nearly faded.

Rooted in empathy and driven by action, Nagu Trust works across rural and marginalized communities to deliver accessible healthcare, emergency services, and community-driven support, always with dignity at the core.

The Story of Nagu

Born from a Crisis. Sustained by Compassion.

In 2020, as the world came to a standstill during the COVID-19 pandemic, something powerful began to move quietly in the rural pockets of Karnataka—a sense of shared pain, but also a growing fire to help. It was a time when even the most basic necessities—like face masks and food—were out of reach for many, including healthcare workers at the frontlines.
Amid this chaos, a small group of compassionate individuals—led by doctors, volunteers, and everyday citizens—came together not out of obligation, but out of love. They pooled their personal resources, risked their safety, and began delivering masks, PPE kits, and cooked meals to hospitals and health workers who had no time to rest, let alone eat.
What started as an emergency response slowly grew into something bigger, something deeper. They saw how invisible the pain was among the homeless, daily wage laborers, and elderly who had no access to care or even a listening ear. They couldn’t look away. And they didn’t.
This collective of quiet warriors evolved into something formal, yet rooted in human emotion—Nagu Trust was born.

The name “Nagu”, meaning smile, became a symbol of hope—not just in curing illness, but in restoring dignity and connection to those long forgotten by systems.

From distributing essential supplies during the peak of the pandemic, Nagu’s work expanded to include:

01

Treating the homeless and downtrodden,

offering both medical and dental care.

02

Organizing free health and dental camps

in underserved rural areas.

03

Launching a free ambulance service

to help patients reach hospitals in time.

04

Providing health education, school outreach, and preventive care

for long-term impact.

Today, Nagu Trust continues to walk the same path—quietly, consistently, and with conviction. It stands as a living example that even in the darkest times, empathy can light the way, and ordinary people can come together to do something extraordinary.
Nagu is not just a Trust—it’s a promise that no one should suffer alone.
